A coach's week in the app

An example U12 week has training on Tuesday and Thursday and a match on Saturday. Each event has its own date and venue. Responses help plan participation beforehand; attendance afterwards records who actually came.

For a match, choosing the squad is a separate decision. Available players are a starting point, not an automatic call-up list. The coach publishes selections at the event for the relevant recipients.

Youth and senior teams: who responds?

Parents often handle contact for youth players; senior players usually respond themselves. TrainTeam uses the team's contact settings and active accounts. A coach should not assume every notification always reaches both a player and a parent.

During setup, check family links and account access. People handled outside the app still need a staff contact process. An inactive account is not confirmation of participation, and missing responses need following up.

Coaches' questions

How long does preparing call-ups take?

The time depends on the number of players and the responses collected. You can see confirmed availability, choose players from the existing list and approve publication. There is no need to copy names or send each message separately.

Do players need an account?

Not every player needs their own account. A parent who uses the app can respond on their child’s behalf. An authorised coach can record availability for players without an active account.

Will I see attendance for the whole season?

Yes. When coaches record actual attendance after events, TrainTeam builds an attendance history for the team. You can review it for a selected season.

Can I run several teams?

Yes. Each team has its own calendar, squad and attendance records. You can switch between your assigned teams from the same account.
